Introduction

Ionizing and Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection Research Center (INIRPRC)
Ionizing and Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection Research Center (INIRPRC)  was established by Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) in the fall of 2009 with the cardinal goal of promoting research in different aspects of the radiation protection including both ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. INIRPRC  is university-based, multidisciplinary and collaborative. This research center brings together a multidisciplinary group of nearly 20 scientists from the departments of Medical Physics, Radiology, Radiobiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Medicine and Physiology.

Mission
Excellence in applied research in protection against ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and promotion of the highest levels of health and wellness through radiation protection related research.

Vision
INIRPRC  will support high quality research that aligns with the goals of the center. INIRPRC will be the link between Iranian research centers/universities and experts in the field of radiation around the world.
To achieve this vision INIRPRC will implement basic strategies in the following key areas:
- Networking
- National and International Collaboration

 Goals
1- Facilitate multidisciplinary interactions, particularly between basic and clinical scientists in the field of radiation protection
2- Acquire equipment to assist researchers in radiation protection related research
3- Provide research environment / support for all Iranian researchers who work in different radiation protection fields
4- Investigate and improve the performance of radiation protection materials and devices
